I know I'm the only Eagles fan on this message board but what are your opinions about the Eagles picking Vick up?

I'm not too stoked about it but other people I know believe it is a good pick up to add to an already explosive offense.

Why wouldn't you be stoked? I think it's a good pick-up for the Eagles, if he's in shape. Vick is a great athlete who could possibly provide McNabb another weapon on offense or quite possibly serve as his back-up. What he did was deplorable as I'm a fan of dogs but Vick is one of the most entertaining players of our generation. I know there will be some bad PR that comes with putting him on a roster and deservedly so IMO, however he's served his debt to society and should be allowed to make a living.

Donte Stallworth KILLED a man, another human being, and served less time than Vick. Roger G. has suspended Donte for the entire '09 season w/out pay and he's not getting nearly the media coverage Vick's (superstar status) getting. What's wrong with that picture?

I agree with kazi. I was disgusted with what Vick did and it ruined my perception of him as a man. That said we have all made mistakes and done things that we wished we could take back. Those things we have done have hopefully made us better people because we have learned from our mistakes. I hope Vick takes this opportunity to be the super star he could have been as opposed to the super star he was.

As far as his physical shape. The guy worked out twice a day for the last 2 years. Why would he not be in shape?

(I don't know that he worked out twice a day - but what else is there to do in prison?)

After I've had time to let this settle in a little more I believe he is a solid pick up for the Eagles. They never go into a situation without doing solid research and making sure the puzzle piece fits.

That being said once Vick gets back on the field for good. There are going to be some interesting offensive schemes deployed by the Eagles.

Owens also got them to their first superbowl appearance in 20+ years. As much as everyone hated him he did get them over that hump.

TO is good everywhere for his first year. It's the years after that he stirs the pot.

So Vick can play again after week 3. He also scored his first TD of his career as an eagle. Hopefully there are more to come.
